Hiking the Smokies With a Dog

Most trails in Great Smoky Mountains National Park are closed to dogs. Two are not: the Gatlinburg Trail and the Oconaluftee River Trail both welcome dogs on a leash. Dogs are also allowed in park campgrounds, picnic areas and along roads, on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Closer to home, our 1-mile scavenger hunt trail through 40 wooded acres is pet friendly too.
