OUR STORY

BRINGING OUR VISION TO LIFE

HOW IT STARTED

Brian and Amanda Jensen are the visionary couple behind Sanctuary Treehouse Resort—the world’s first and largest interactive treehouse resort. Their passion for hospitality, nature, and family led them to reimagine what a vacation could be: not just a place to stay, but a place to play, connect, and create lifelong memories.

In addition to developing the award-winning Sanctuary Treehouse Resort, Brian and Amanda also own and operate the Gatlinburg SkyShop, perched atop the iconic Gatlinburg SkyLift Park. Their entrepreneurial journey has earned them local, regional, and national recognition, but at the heart of every venture lies a deeper mission: creating meaningful experiences that bring people together.

Family has always been the driving force behind their work. The Jensens’ four children have been hands-on since day one—contributing creative ideas, naming treehouses, painting artwork, designing décor, and even helping with construction and landscaping. Sanctuary Treehouse Resort is not just a business; it’s a living legacy built by a family, for families.

Their greatest hope? That every guest who visits feels the same joy and wonder they felt while building it. Whether you’re planning a magical family adventure or a peaceful romantic escape, Sanctuary Treehouse Resort is a place where modern-day amenities meet nostalgia in nature—and where unforgettable moments are waiting to be made.

Founders | Dreamers | Developers | Family First

Brian and Amanda Jensen, proud natives of Sevier County, serve as the visionaries and developers behind Sanctuary Treehouse Resort. The couple’s entrepreneurial spirit extends to their ownership of the Gatlinburg SkyCenter, situated atop the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park. However, at the core of their endeavors lies a deep appreciation for family, motivating them to create a haven where cherished memories can be made.

Their commitment to family shines through as their four children have played an integral role in the resort’s development. From contributing innovative ideas and artistic renderings to naming the treehouses, crafting thematic artwork and decor, participating in construction and landscaping efforts, and assisting in various aspects of setup and design, their children have been invaluable partners in realizing this unique concept. The Jensen’s eagerly embrace the opportunity to work alongside their children, imparting valuable lessons about entrepreneurship and the enchantment of turning dreams into reality.

The couple’s heartfelt wish is for each family visiting Sanctuary Treehouse Resort to derive as much joy from their vacation as the Jensen family experienced in bringing it to life. Moreover, they aspire for the resort to be a sanctuary for families and couples seeking an escape to celebrate their love for each other. Whether planning a family adventure or a romantic getaway, an unforgettable experience awaits you at Sanctuary Treehouse Resort.
